Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals – Transform Your Wardrobe

Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals – How to Use Them.

Looking to make your clothes, shoes and accessories more glamorous? And have fun doing it?  You can use Swarovski hot fix crystals to achieve tremendous results in a very simple, easy  manner. Here is everything you need to know about the ways to use Swarovski hot fix crystals.

Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals can be attached to any material, including fabric. Hot glue gun is needed and the results are much more long lasting and secure than the ones achieved through the use of any other technology.

The procedure of applying Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals to another surface is rather simple. First off, you need to have an idea about the pattern you want to get. You may try laying the crystals on the fabric before gluing them on. This step will let you decide if the pattern or the design is the one that you want.

For the next step, you will have to place the fabric or other material you plan to apply Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals to on an even, horizontal surface. You may consider the positioning of cardboard or a layer of plastic underneath the surface that crystals will be applied to. This layer will prevent the hot glue from passing over to the other side.

Apply the Swarovski hot fix crystals glue to the surface. You need a thin, even layer. Next up, place the crystals and press them on. To improve the results, you can use your iron. Use the lowest possible settings. Press the iron against the crystals for 10 to 20 seconds. Your t-shirt or other kind of fabulous accessory is ready to wear.

If a crystal happens to land in the wrong place, you will have to heat it again, using the tip of the applicator. Once it gets heated, try to slide the crystal very delicately. Refrain from moving it too far, as traces of glue will become visible.

You should work on small portions of the design to achieve the best results. Place several Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals, fix them and move on to the other part. Putting too many crystals on at the same time will crowd the pattern and will make it more difficult for you to fix the crystals with the iron.

Several additional ideas will help you achieve long-lasting results. Choose smaller stones and create patterns with those. Small Swarovski Hot Fix Crystals will be more difficult to rip from the fabric, which will increase the life of the pattern.

Clothes that have Swarovski hot fix crystal patterns should never be dry cleaned. Traditional washing may also lead to the falling off of some of the stones. You will have to be extra gentle and careful when handling the crystal-covered fabrics and hand washing is recommended.

Working with Swarovski hot fix crystals is fun and easy.

The large number of crystals and colors available will give you the chance to come up with any creative design. Read the instructions carefully if you want to achieve the best results. Swarovski hot fix crystals can make any accessory much more sophisticated and unique. As you can see this is not that difficult to use swarovski hot fix crystals.

Swarovski Crystals – A History

Swarovski Crystals by Crystals Oz

Swarovski CrystalsSwarovski Crystals were the inspiration of Daniel Swarovski who was born in Georgenthal Bohemia, on October 24th 1862. This region is now part of the Czech Republic. He became apprenticed as a glass cutter to the family business owned by his father and became very skilled in the art. He later designed and patented a machine for cutting glass which enabled the production of fine quality lead crystal and in 1895 Daniel Swarovski, financier Armand Kosman and his brother in law Franz Weis launched the Swarovski Crystals company, which quickly became famous.

Shortly afterward, Swarovski relocated his factory and his family to Wattens, Tyrol, Austria. This area had sufficient water for the Swarovski Crystals company’s electricity needs and being fairly isolated gave them an advantage against competition, but it was still convenient to Paris where their important customers were based. Swarovski’s original market was crystals which were used with formal evening dress, this continued through the latter part of the nineteenth century and the early part of the twentieth century.

Swarovski Crystals - BeadsEven the outbreak of World War I in 1914 did not cause setbacks for Swarovski Crystals and they continued to prosper throughout these terrible years. By 1931 they had expanded the range to include ribbons set with Swarovski crystals for the fashion industry and binoculars and telescopes through subsidiary companies. Daniel Swarovski lived to a great age and was ninety four when he died on January 23rd, 1956 and his descendants are part of the management of theSwarovski Crystals Group of companies to the present day. The range they produce includes crystal sculptures, miniatures, home decor, chandeliers, couture and jewelry.

100 Years of Swarovski Crystals

The hundredth anniversary of Swarovski Crystal was celebrated in 1995 in grand style with the opening of Swarovski Crystals World a unique theme park designed by Andre’ Heller. It features waterworks, a labyrinth and dramatic lighting. The park is located at the original site in Wattens, which is near Innsbrook. There are many exhibits relating to the crystals, but how they are designed, produced and finished is kept a secret.  Swarovski Crystal is popular all over the world in many forms. Many brides have married wearing a stunning gown decorated with the beautiful crystals, while earrings, necklaces, figurines, paperweights, key rings and miniatures are best sellers.

Swarovski Crystals by Crystals Oz - Our Online StoreDaniel Swarovski brought sparkle to the world with his crystal more than a hundred years ago, but he could never have foreseen the success story which Swarovski Crystals are today. As well as the decorative and collectible items the Swarovski Group also has a practical side , they produce scopes for rifles and binoculars and their company Tyrolit manufactures abrasives and cutting tools. They also own Swareflex who make luminous and reflective road markings and Signity who manufacture synthetic gemstones.

However the name Swarovski Crystals, will always be synonymous with high quality lead crystal and one of the reasons it is so special is the large amount of lead and lead oxide it contains, as high as 32%. The lead content produces a higher refractive index taking it closer to diamonds. This is why Swarovski Crystals are much heavier and have more sparkle than ordinary cheap types of glass. As long as people love the sparkle of diamonds, they will also love the beauty of Swarovski Crystals.
